This very aged, dried, and spalted piece of ironwood from northern Wisconsin shows latte and mocha tones, and a form and feel of antiquity. Some checking and spalting in the wood give it an apperance of stone adding to the patina. Ironwood has a density and hardness that is immediately noticed, making it feel granite and wood-like.
